PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Raven, a staff favorite and long-timer at CCHS

CHAMPAIGN, IL  – Meet Raven, a terrier/pit bull mix and long-term resident at the Champaign County Humane Society (CCHS).

Raven is a three-and-a-half-year-old bundle of love who has been available for adoption for over 90 days.  This beautiful girl weighs in a 55 lbs. and is more ready than ever to find her fur-ever home.  In fact, the shelter is waiving my adoption fee for any approved applicant.

Raven had a rough start in life, spending her first year locked in a kennel. Fortunately, she found a home that promised her a better life. With her high energy levels, Raven is a real firecracker, but her previous owner wasn’t quite ready for her rambunctious antics. Raven needs a patient family that can teach her some manners and help her burn off all that energy.

“Raven is one of my best buds! This is her second time with us through no fault of her own, and she made the move to the new building with us last year, so we’ve all gotten the opportunity to get to know her very well,” animal care staff member Roe says of this dynamic dog. “She’s enthusiastic about doing anything for treats, and very smart about getting them. She loves neck rubs and will happily sit next to you and people watch while you pet her. Raven is very playful and silly, loves to play fetch outside and wiggle around in the grass on her back. Snow is also one of her favorite things-we have a hard time convincing her to come back inside, she’d rather just jump around and eat the snow! She’d love to be your only pet and get all your love, so if you have room in your life for a little princess, come and meet Raven!!”

As Roe mentioned, Raven is not too keen on other dogs, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the star of the show. This girl loves to soak up all your love and cuddles. If you’re looking for a furry friend to light up your life, please swing by the shelter to meet Raven!
