PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Leia, your new furry, friendly feline companion

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – If you’re looking for a cute and friendly feline companion, Leia is your gal!

Meet Leia, a cute and friendly Domestic Shorthair weighing at 9.32 lbs who came a long way from when she was first picked up at the Champaign County Humane Society (CCHS). Leia is one year old and was relinquished due to aggressive behavior. She exhibited stress from a dog in her former home, so she cannot go to a home with dogs. However, after being given time and space, Leia is just as friendly as any other cat, interacting with the staff, enjoying some nice belly rubs, head scratches, and rubbing people affectionately with her cheeks.

Leia has come a long way and is ready for YOU to adopt her. Despite staff’s initial thoughts about her ability to be adopted, she became a staff favorite within a couple weeks as she warmed up to the staff and completely changed the way she feels about humans. Although she isn’t so fond of vet exams, who would be? She loves physical touch and would make a great companion for anyone looking for a tiny black cat. So, if you’re looking for a cat who love pets and can’t get enough of cute things, Leia is the furry feline companion for you!
