PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Alexandrite, the domestic shorthair

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Meet Alexandrite, the rockstar cat!

Alexandrite is a 2-year-old female domestic shorthair weighing at 12.54 pounds. She initially came to the Champaign County Humane Society (CCHS) as a transfer from the local Animal Control facility. She was initially found as a stray kitten along with her siblings. She was adopted out, but, unfortunately, she was found as a stray afterwards.

She is a very sweet girl who is nervous to meet new people, but warms up over time. She prefers quieter times around the shelter, but comes out of hiding to explore and play. She does very well with humans and cats in the shelter alike. For more information on Alexandrite at cuhumane.org.
