Tonight, Luke Bryan will host the 55th Annual CMA Awards. It’s the first time he is hosting all alone and the first time a CMA host has gone solo since Vince Gill did it nearly 20 years ago. Luke will be performing on tonight’s show and he was nominated in the Musical Event of the Year category for his collaboration with Jordan Davis, Buy Dirt.

Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney have already won a couple CMA awards for Half Of My Hometown. They will receive a trophy for Musical  Event of the Year and Video of the Year. Kelsea has nine CMA nominations in her career. These are her first two wins.

The birthday girl, Miranda Lambert, will opening tonight’s show. She’s not saying which songs she will be performing but has promised some surprises.  Miranda is 38 today.

The CMA Awards will air tonight on ABC.
