The CMT Music Awards have introduced a new category this year, Trending Comeback Song of the Year. It is seven iconic songs from some of country’s biggest stars. A few of the nominees in the category are Brooks & Dunn, Neon Moon, Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 and Shania Twain, Man! I Feel Like A Woman. You can vote for your favorite at CMT.com. The CMT Music Awards will be handed out Monday night.


Morgan Wallen has donated $25,000 to the Smoky Mountain wildfires disaster fund. The money will be used for mobile food pantries, clothing, hot meals for workers and supplies for the communities in the affected areas near his hometown of Sneedville, TN.


Dierks Bentley was honored with a star on the Country Music Walk of Fame yesterday. He, along with other artists including Connie Smith, were recognized for their contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville.


Garth Brooks has confirmed that he will be opening a bar and entertainment venue on Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville. A timeline for the opening is unknown at this time.


Fifteen years ago today Luke Bryan made his Grand Ole Opry debut. His sister, Kelly, gathered dozens of family members and friends to make the trip to Nashville to see him perform.  It  was the last time Kelly saw Luke perform.  She passed away a month later from unknown causes.
