Garth Brooks announced earlier today that he is taking himself out of the running for the CMA Entertainer of the Year award.  Garth won the award last year, for the seventh time, and some fans argued that Carrie Underwood or Eric Church deserved it and that he should step down and leave the Entertainer award for the next generation. He agreed 100%. Garth, who is one of the world’s top selling live entertainers across all genres and was the highest grossing touring artist in country music last year, plans to withdraw from the Entertainer of the Year running indefinitely.
