URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The City of Urbana’s Alternative Response Task Force (ARTF) will host a public focus group session on Thursday, November 6, 2025, to discuss new approaches to emergency and public safety responses in the community.

The session will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Independent Media Center (IMC), 202 South Broadway Avenue in Urbana.

The meeting will include opening remarks, introductions, and a presentation from the Law Enforcement Action Partnership (LEAP). Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session focused on alternative response strategies that could complement or reduce traditional law enforcement interventions.

City officials said the focus group is part of an ongoing effort to explore innovative and community-centered approaches to safety and crisis response.

The next ARTF focus group session is scheduled for December 11, 2025. The meeting is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend.
