CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign Unit 4 is hosting a two-day career and technical education career fair this week to connect students with local businesses and career opportunities.

The event is being organized by Unit 4’s College and Career Readiness Team in partnership with the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce as part of National Career and Technical Education Month.

The career fair will take place Wednesday, February 11, at Central High School in the Combs Gym, and Thursday, February 12, at Centennial High School in the North Gym. Both events will run from 10:52 a.m. to 1:32 p.m.

Officials say the fair is designed to help students explore internship programs, skilled trades, and career pathways by providing hands-on learning opportunities and direct connections with employers. More than 50 Champaign County businesses are expected to participate.

Unit 4 leaders say career and technical education programs help students build real-world skills in areas ranging from industrial technology and business to family and consumer sciences and the skilled trades, preparing them for successful postsecondary plans.
