ST. JOSEPH, IL (Chambana Today) – A St. Joseph man was arrested on Sunday for soliciting a minor.

Tyler S. McElwee, aged 35, was arrested for traveling to meet a minor, solicitation to meet a child, indecent solicitation of a child, and sexual exploitation of a child. This arrest occurred during a traffic stop at 4:02 p.m. on Sunday, December 15 at Park and Franklin streets by Clara Peterson Elementary School at Paxton.

The investigation into McElwee started on Friday, November 29 when he began talking to a police officer online who was posing as a teenager. McElwee then arranged to meet with the teeenager in person in Paxton. His 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck was then impounded by police under city ordinance.
