CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — During its triennial accreditation survey conducted January 12-16, Rosecrance Behavioral Health earned high praise from The Joint Commission surveyors for the quality of its services, welcoming facilities, and exceptional care provided by staff.

The review is a demanding, multi-day process designed to assess organizational excellence. During a five-day site visit, surveyors evaluated 21 Rosecrance locations across Illinois and Iowa, examining standards related to quality of care, consistency, accountability, and client and staff safety.

The Joint Commission accreditation survey is the highest possible standard for behavioral health treatment centers.

During site visits, surveyors praised staff as “knowledgeable” and “well-versed,” and described the facilities as “welcoming,” “very well maintained,” and “therapeutic and calming spaces.”

“Observations from The Joint Commission are critical to our role as a leader in behavioral health care,” said CEO Dave Gomel, Ph.D. “The thorough process documents what we do well while identifying opportunities to improve. I’m proud of our team and appreciative of the constructive feedback we received.”

Rosecrance has been accredited by The Joint Commission since 1984.

The Joint Commission is a not-for-profit organization that has set healthcare standards since 1951 and evaluated other organizations’ compliance with those standards. It accredits and certifies more than 15,000 healthcare organizations in the United States, including hospitals and ambulatory and office-based surgery, behavioral health, home healthcare, laboratory, and nursing care center providers.

“The survey process allowed our staff to show how deeply they care about the people they serve and how they put outcomes-based care into practice every day,” Gomel said. “The Joint Commission was able to see the compassion, expertise, and dedication our team brings to helping clients achieve lasting recovery.”

Rosecrance served over 70,000 clients last year and continues to expand to meet community needs and provide help, hope, and lasting recovery to as many individuals and families as possible. The accreditation of The Joint Commission allows Rosecrance to continue positioning itself as an expert in behavioral healthcare and a leader for other treatment providers to follow.
