Parkland College choir, jazz combo continue fall concert season

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Parkland College’s fall concert season continues this month with performances by the Parkland Choir and Jazz Combo, showcasing the musical range and creativity of student ensembles.

The Parkland Choir, under the direction of Dr. Cheryl Forest Morganson, will perform Friday, November 21 at 7 p.m. in the Second Stage Theatre. The evening’s program includes selections such as “Hang There, My Verse” from Honor, “Paper Airplanes” from A Jazzman’s Blues, “Reflection” from Mulan, and “Starman” by David Bowie.

The following week, Parkland’s Jazz Combo, directed by Professor Kevin Hart, will take the stage Monday, November 24 at 7 p.m., also in the Second Stage Theatre. Their set will feature jazz standards and Latin-inspired selections including “All of Me,” “Blue Bossa,” “Chitlins Con Carne,” “Misty,” “Night and Day,” “Obsesión,” “Recorda Me,” “Satin Doll,” “Tenor Madness,” and “There Will Never Be Another You.”
