ROSEMONT, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Illinois women’s basketball placed two players on the Big Ten’s weekly honors list for the first time this season, the conference announced Monday.

Freshman Cearah Parchment was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time in 2025–26, while sophomore Berry Wallace earned a spot on the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll, also her second recognition of the season.

The honors cover a three-game stretch in which Illinois went 2–1, defeating Purdue on the road and earning a program-defining upset of No. 7/6 Maryland, before falling at No. 24/19 Michigan State. The win over Maryland marked the highest-ranked victory over a Big Ten opponent in program history. Illinois improved to 13–2, matching the best 15-game start in program history.

Parchment, a native of Whitby, Ontario, averaged 12.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 44.4% from the field during the stretch. She scored 17 points in the upset of Maryland, including 8-of-10 from the free-throw line, and delivered key fourth-quarter plays to help seal the win.

Wallace led the Illini offensively, averaging 21.7 points per game while shooting 50% from the field, 50% from three-point range, and 92.9% from the free-throw line. She recorded three consecutive 20-point games and now has eight such performances this season.

Against Maryland, Wallace scored 22 points, went a perfect 6-for-6 at the line, and blocked a potential game-tying shot in the final seconds. She followed with another 22-point performance at Michigan State, playing all 40 minutes and tying a career high with four three-pointers.

Illinois players have now accounted for six Big Ten weekly honors this season.

The Fighting Illini return to action Wednesday when No. 19/20 Ohio State visits State Farm Center. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
