DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Residents, developers, and investors will soon have the opportunity to purchase surplus and vacant land in Vermilion County through an online auction hosted by the Vermilion County Trustee Program (VCTP) and Vermilion Advantage. The auction is scheduled to run from January 13 to 15, 2026.

The event will feature a range of available properties, including residential lots and single-family homes, accessible through a secure online platform. Organizers say the goal is to return underutilized properties to productive use, promote economic development, and improve neighborhoods across the county.

Registration for the auction opens December 15, 2025, with property previews available through January 12, 2026 at public-vadv.epropertyplus.com. Interested bidders will be able to browse images and descriptions of each parcel before placing bids when the auction opens.

In addition to the January event, the Trustee Program will also make current property inventory available for direct purchase beginning August 25. Those interested in purchasing before the auction can register and submit an application in advance.

The Vermilion County Trustee Program manages surplus land and tax-delinquent properties on behalf of local governments, with a mission to reduce blight, stabilize property values, and foster long-term community growth.

Mike Levin, director of the Trustee Program at Vermilion Advantage, said the auction presents a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to invest in the county’s future. For more information, including a full list of available properties and registration details, visit www.vermilionadvantage.com or contact Mike Levin at 217-442-6201.
