CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – The 2025 Urbana-Champaign Marathon is introducing a new race route that promises to offer both participants and spectators a scenic and exciting race experience. All events will start and finish on the beautiful campus of the University of Illinois.

The race kicks off near the State Farm Center and weaves through all sides of the University of Illinois campus, with runners passing through several neighborhoods in both Champaign and Urbana. Marathon runners will also head into Savoy. The races will all conclude at the iconic 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium, except for the Mile event, which will finish on Green Street, just east of Neil Street.

Participants and spectators can view or download a map for the race they are participating in here to ensure they’re fully prepared. If you’re not running, check out the maps to understand the impact on traffic. Drivers can also consult the Beltway map for suggested routes to avoid race-day road closures.

Parking and Accessibility:

Free parking is available for both runners and spectators. The parking map can be accessed here. For handicap parking, spaces are located in the north-most row of the NW lot of the State Farm Center parking lot, with easy access to Memorial Stadium via Kirby Avenue and Gate 32. Handicap seating is in the south horseshoe of Memorial Stadium.

Hydration and Nutrition Stations:

Hydration stations will be located at miles 6.75, 13.5, 17, and 21. For the 5K course, water and Nuun Sport will be available. Meijer will also sponsor fruit stops near miles 6.5 and 24.5.

Restrooms and Entertainment:

Rest assured, plenty of portable toilets will be available at the start and along the entire course. Runners will also enjoy lively entertainment with musicians, cheerleaders, and other performers stationed throughout the race route.
