SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) — The Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program, offering financial support to high school seniors and undergraduate students planning to attend two- or four-year institutions this fall.

Founded in 2002, the organization works to connect the Illinois Black Caucus with communities across the state while expanding access to educational resources and opportunities for African American students. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships.

Officials say the program is designed to promote education as a pathway to stronger communities, encouraging recipients to give back through civic engagement, professional contributions, and community involvement.

The application process is now fully online, reflecting the foundation’s efforts to modernize and streamline submissions. Paper applications will not be accepted. Students experiencing technical difficulties are encouraged to contact the foundation for assistance.
