Hot shooting lifts Illinois women past Wisconsin at State Farm Center

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Illinois turned in one of its most complete performances of the season Wednesday night, defeating Wisconsin 92-60 behind blistering three-point shooting at State Farm Center.

The Fighting Illini (17-8, 7-7 Big Ten) shot 64.7% from beyond the arc, connecting on 11 of 17 attempts. Illinois also shot 58.1% from the field overall and assisted on 24 of its 36 made baskets while committing a season-low eight turnovers.

Aaliyah Guyton led the way with a career-high 22 points and six assists, going a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range — the best single-game three-point percentage in program history with a minimum of six makes.

Six Illini finished in double figures. Maddie Webber scored 15 points off the bench, while Berry Wallace and Jasmine Brown-Hagger added 13 each. Freshman Cearah Parchment recorded her second straight double-double with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Destiny Jackson chipped in 10 points and six assists.

After an early 9-9 tie, Illinois used a 13-0 run in the second quarter to take control and led 42-26 at halftime. The Illini continued to pull away in the second half, leading by as many as 41 points.

Defensively, Illinois held Wisconsin to 36.9% shooting and just 21.7% from three-point range. The Illini conclude their three-game homestand Tuesday night against Rutgers at 6 p.m.
