Girl Scouts of Central Illinois celebrating Grand Opening of Champaign Service Center on August 24

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Girl Scouts of Central Illinois (GCSI) is holding the grand opening celebration of its newly relocated Champaign Service Center on Sunday, August 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1808 East Round Barn Road in Champaign.

The community is invited to join in on the festivities and explore the enhanced, girl-focused space designed to inspire discovery, creativity, and leadership. The new service center features expanded program areas and a larger Trefoil Boutique, as well as a Build-A Bear Workshop®, and opportunities for hands-on fun. In addition to tours and troop information, the grand opening celebration includes:

  • Build-A-Bear Workshop® experience – create your own furry friend
  • Dope Slimes™ station – craft your own slime sundae
  • Ice Daddy’s – free small ice cream cone or shaved ice for the first 50 guests (served
    from 1–3 p.m.)
  • Live broadcast by Mix 94.5 radio station

The new facility includes space for workshops, troop meetings, and trainings, which will help GSCI better serve current and future members. The in-house Build-A-Bear Workshop®, which is open to the public, includes exclusive Girl Scout-themed bears and accessories, alongside other popular characters and plush items.

GSCI proudly serves 38 counties in central Illinois with service centers in Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Peoria, and Springfield. Girls in grades K-12 can join Girl Scouts at any time throughout the year. To learn more about joining or volunteering, visit their website at GetYourGirlPower.org.
