CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias will unveil a new state-of-the-art DMV+ facility in Champaign on Monday, August 4, at noon. Located at 2012 Round Barn Road, the modernized facility represents a major upgrade in the way residents access Secretary of State services.

The DMV+ model introduces services never before available at standard DMV locations. In addition to traditional driver and vehicle services, the Champaign DMV+ will offer specialized services from the Secretary of State’s Business, Index, Administrative Hearings, and Personnel Departments—services previously only accessible at offices in Chicago or Springfield.

Secretary Giannoulias, Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen, Urbana Mayor Pro Tempore Maryalice Wu, and other local officials will attend the grand opening.

A key feature of the DMV+ concept is the “One-Stop-Shop” approach. Employees are cross-trained to handle a variety of customer needs—ranging from driver’s licenses and REAL IDs to vehicle registration, plates, titles, and more—streamlining the customer experience and reducing wait times.

This initiative is part of Giannoulias’ broader effort to modernize the Secretary of State’s services across Illinois, making government more accessible and efficient for all residents.
