Former Associate Judge returns to Champaign-based law firm


CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Meyer Capel, one of the largest law firms in the region, announced that Anna M. Benjamin returned to the firm as a shareholder and member of its litigation team. She has over 17 years of experience serving as a trial lawyer and an Associate Judge.

Before her time at Meyer Capel, she served more than eight years as an Associate Judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Champaign County, presiding over a broad range of civil matters, including family law, juvenile and guardianship cases, estate litigation, administrative review, municipal court matters, and election disputes.

Prior to her judicial appointment, Benjamin practiced family law and civil litigation at Meyer Capel as a shareholder, representing clients in both trial and appellate courts.

She has also served on multiple Illinois Supreme Court committees, including as Vice‐Chair of the Guardian ad Litem Education Committee, and has held leadership roles with the Illinois Judges Association and the Illinois Judges Foundation. She is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council and the Champaign County Bar Association.
