Champaign, IL (Chambana Today) – First Mid Bank & Trust is celebrating a new chapter in its long-standing service to the Champaign-Urbana community with the grand opening of its newest financial center at 608 E. University Avenue, Suite 101.

The bank will host an open house on Wednesday, October 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., inviting residents, business leaders, and customers to tour the space, meet the team, and learn more about First Mid’s expanded services. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for noon.

Designed with a focus on modern banking needs and financial wellness, the new location is part of First Mid’s broader initiative to bring more flexible, relationship-based banking solutions to its customers. The space will offer one-on-one assistance in areas like retirement planning, credit support, digital banking tools, and fraud protection education.

“We are thrilled to open this new location and continue building meaningful relationships with our customers,” said Stas Wolak, Chief Retail Banking Officer. “This financial center is designed to bring enhanced convenience and resources to the community while maintaining the personal service our customers expect.”

The grand opening comes during a milestone year for First Mid Bancshares, Inc., the bank’s parent company, which is celebrating its 160th anniversary in 2025. Founded in 1865, the company has grown into a $7.7 billion organization with operations in Illinois, Missouri, Texas, Wisconsin, and Indiana.
