CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Epilepsy Advocacy Network will host its second annual Epilepsy Education Conference for Central Illinois on March 14 at the I Hotel in Champaign.

The conference is designed for individuals living with seizures, their families and community members who want to learn more about epilepsy, a neurological condition that affects 1 in 26 people.

Specialists from Carle Health and SIU Medicine will serve as featured speakers, providing information on treatment options, management strategies and the latest developments in epilepsy care. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive seizure first aid training and hear from a panel of individuals impacted by epilepsy.

Lunch will be provided, along with time for networking and connecting with local resources and support services.

According to organizers, the goal of the event is to build stronger, more informed communities while connecting people living with epilepsy to others who understand their experiences.

The cost to attend is $5, and financial assistance is available for those who need it. Registration is available online.

The Epilepsy Advocacy Network serves Central and Northwestern Illinois by offering support groups, case management, seizure response trainings and advocacy services. For more information, call 815-846-0881 or visit epilepsyadvocacynetwork.org.
