DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Danville Police Department, in coordination with the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office, has announced updated charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.

Trevon M. Lake, 30, of Danville, has been booked on charges of First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon related to the incident. Lake was initially held on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm before the upgraded charges were issued. The investigation remains active.

Early Morning Shooting at Scooters Bar

At approximately 1:26 a.m. on November 29, Danville Police officers responded to reports of shots fired at Scooters Bar, located at 1114 E. Voorhees Street. While officers were en route, dispatchers advised that a shooting victim was still on scene.

Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Minutes later, at 1:34 a.m., police were informed that a second male had arrived at the OSF Emergency Room with a gunshot wound. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. After receiving treatment, he was transported to the Public Safety Building and booked on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Ongoing Investigation
