Danville police investigating early morning shooting

DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Police are investigating a shooting that left a 33-year-old man injured early Thursday morning in Danville.

Officers with the Danville Police Department responded around 4:45 a.m. on September 25 to a report of a gunshot victim in the 400 block of Beard Street. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through preliminary investigation, authorities determined the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Harvey Street. Later that day, the Danville Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit executed a court-ordered search warrant at a residence on Harvey Street and secured the property.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigators have not released further details.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking the public for help.
