DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Jontell J. Robinson, a 30-year-old male from Chicago, was arrested by the Danville Police Department on December 8, 2025, after fleeing from officers and attempting to hide in a nearby tree line. Robinson, who was wanted for First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, is the prime suspect in the fatal shooting at Scooters Bar on November 29.

At approximately 12:48 p.m., officers with the Problem-Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit recognized Robinson and attempted to apprehend him. Upon seeing the officers, Robinson fled on foot, sparking a brief pursuit. He was apprehended five minutes later without incident.

Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building for processing. The Danville Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident, which led to the death of a 30-year-old male at the Scooters Bar.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation, and two individuals were involved. The first victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second male, who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, later arrived at OSF Emergency Room and was subsequently booked on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

In a related development, Trevon M. Lake, also 30 and from Danville, was arrested on charges of First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

Deputy Chief Doug Miller of the Danville Police Department urges anyone with additional information to come forward. “We continue to investigate this tragic event,” he said. “Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (217) 446-TIPS. Tips can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.”
