DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — Danville First Fridays will open their Games of Danville, celebrating the 2026 Olympics on Friday

April 3 from 5-8 p.m. at Temple Plaza, where anyone who wants to participate is encouraged to bring a team of 2-5 friends or family members for an evening of FREE mini tailgate-style games, live music, food trucks and refreshing brews!

Organizers of the event are declaring the Games of Danville to be open, with local businesses that are stepping up as proud “event hosts” bringing their most exciting and competitive mini games to Vermilion Street where Downtown Danville will be transformed into its very own Olympic Village.

Teams of 2-5 will report to the check-in area — your official Athlete Credential Station — to receive a score card and map of the event layout.

From there, the torch is in your hands.

Compete in as many mini-events as  possible to earn points, climb the leaderboard, and go for Danville gold. Every challenge conquered moves your team closer to the podium and the chance to claim grand prizes and ultimate Olympic bragging rights.

For those who want to join the festivities without competing for medals, there will be several open-play exhibition games offered. No teams required, just the spirit of fun and friendly competition.
