DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Danville Fire Department will hold a swearing-in ceremony later this month to officially promote Christopher McMahon to the rank of assistant chief.

The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 28 in the Lower Chambers of City Hall, located at 17 W. Main St. in Danville. Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. will lead the proceedings.

Family members, friends and members of the public are invited to attend as the department recognizes McMahon’s promotion and continued service to the city.

McMahon has served with the Danville Fire Department for more than 26 years and will assume leadership of the department’s 3rd Battalion.
