CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The City of Champaign is calling on young performers from across Champaign County to step into the spotlight and share their talents at Champaign’s Got Talent, a brand-new youth showcase designed to celebrate the creativity, confidence, and diversity of local students in grades 1–12.

Whether it’s dancing, singing, spoken word, visual art, modeling, acting, magic, or music—every talent is welcome, and all experience levels are encouraged to audition.

Auditions are open Monday through Friday, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., making it easy for students to participate right after school. Those selected will perform during weekly live shows held every Tuesday from 5:15 to 6:00 p.m. at 310 N Neil Street in Downtown Champaign.

The showcase will culminate in two exciting evenings:

  • October 21 – Top 3 performers take the stage.

  • October 28 – Final show and winner announcements.

In a fun twist, the community gets to vote for their favorites through the Champaign Farmers Market. One purchase of $0.50 or more equals one vote—giving locals a delicious reason to support young artists.

“Whether your child dreams of being the next Beyoncé or just loves to dance in the living room, we want to see them on stage,” said Kayla Johnson, Events and Program Coordinator for the City of Champaign. “This is about lifting up our youth and giving them a space to shine.”

Sign-ups are open now at www.visitdowntownchampaign.com/talent, and performances are free and open to the public. Families from Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet, Savoy, Rantoul, St. Joseph, Tolono, and beyond are invited to participate and attend.
