Champaign’s fall yard waste pickup begins October 13

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today)— One of Champaign’s most popular seasonal services is back. The City’s Fall 2025 Yard Waste Collection program will begin Monday, October 13 in the Blue Zone and Monday, October 20 in the Orange Zone.

The program offers free collection of bagged yard waste and bundled sticks for all residential properties within city limits. Residents are encouraged to check the interactive map on the City’s website to find their collection zone and scheduled pickup dates.

The service runs through mid-December, with alternating pickup days based on location:

Blue Zone Pickup Dates:

  • B-1 (Mondays): Oct. 13, Oct. 27, Nov. 10, Dec. 1

  • B-2 (Tuesdays): Oct. 14, Oct. 28, Nov. 11, Dec. 2

  • B-3 (Wednesdays): Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Dec. 3

  • B-4 (Thursdays): Oct. 16, Oct. 30, Nov. 13, Dec. 4

  • B-5 (Fridays): Oct. 17, Oct. 31, Nov. 14, Dec. 5

Orange Zone Pickup Dates:

  • O-1 (Mondays): Oct. 20, Nov. 3, Nov. 17, Dec. 8

  • O-2 (Tuesdays): Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 18, Dec. 9

  • O-3 (Wednesdays): Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, Dec. 10

  • O-4 (Thursdays): Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Nov. 20, Dec. 11

  • O-5 (Fridays): Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 12

Collection Guidelines:

  • Yard waste must be placed in paper yard waste bags.

  • Sticks and branches must be bundled with twine or string.

  • All items should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your scheduled day.
