KANSAS CITY, MO. (Chambana Today) — The Champaign County 4-H Livestock Judging Team clinched first place at the prestigious American Royal Livestock Judging Contest, held on October 19, 2025, in Kansas City. This victory grants the team an invitation to represent the U.S. at the International Livestock Judging Contest in Scotland in 2026.

  • Achievements:

  • First place overall in the contest
  • High team in Oral Reasons and Swine
  • Second place in Sheep/Goats and sixth in Cattle
  • Individual Honors:

  • Hunter Shike: 3rd overall, 1st in Oral Reasons, 2nd in Cattle, 3rd in Swine
  • Morgan Huls: 7th overall, 8th in Oral Reasons, 4th in Swine, 3rd in Sheep/Goats
  • Lane Beyers: 19th overall, 9th in Oral Reasons, 10th in Sheep/Goats
  • Callie Turner: 34th overall, 17th in Oral Reasons, 8th in Swine

The team’s success is a reflection of their years of hard work and teamwork. “We’ve worked really hard over the years, and it was awesome to see our progress,” said Shike.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in their 4-H journey, and all team members are now considering collegiate livestock judging opportunities.
