CHICAGO, Ill. (Chambana Today) — R. Cary Capparelli, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate from Illinois, announced his key priorities for the country in a statement on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The former academic and outspoken critic of current U.S. leadership, Capparelli sharply criticized the Biden and Obama administrations for what he described as “mismanagement of taxpayer dollars” and neglect of national security.

Capparelli highlighted a series of policy goals he believes are critical to America’s future, including boosting the nation’s economic strength, ensuring military readiness, and combating crime.

Among Capparelli’s top priorities, listed in no particular order, were:

  • Strengthening the U.S. economy to benefit families both domestically and globally
  • Closely monitoring adversaries like China and Russia to prevent foreign influence
  • Ensuring a powerful military and defense infrastructure
  • Providing endless support for U.S. veterans
  • Making healthcare affordable and accessible for all
  • Addressing mental health as a global crisis
  • Fighting crime and securing U.S. borders

Capparelli also addressed his concerns over rising socialism in the United States, emphasizing his belief that the nation’s political system should reject both Communism and its ideological offshoots. He expressed the need for America to reclaim its rightful place of respect within the United Nations, particularly within the UN Security Council, and reassert its global leadership.

As part of his campaign, Capparelli, who holds a PhD in Geography, vowed to prioritize issues like national security, economic recovery, and veterans’ affairs if elected.

Capparelli’s comments come as the Illinois Senate race heats up, with early polling showing a competitive primary field. For more details on Capparelli’s campaign, visit www.rcarycapparelli.net.
