When a Cleveland, Ohio, woman took her newish car into her dealership to replace a flat tire she was surprised to find out there was about $12,000 in pot hiding in the tire. Mechanics didn’t realize anything was amiss until after they’d installed the spare and heard a loud thumping as the woman drove off. Upon closer inspection they found eight pounds of marijuana wrapped in plastic and stashed in the car, which the driver had bought new in August. Cops are now trying to trace the pot back to whoever supplied the parts or transported the vehicle.
A company that provides aerial tours of the Grand Canyon notified police that one of their airplanes was missing from Nevada’s Boulder City Airport. Officers responded to find a man was taking off and landing the plane over and over. Since they could not chase him, they had to wait for a landing. On the fifth landing, they managed to arrest 47-year-old Paul Michael Weddle. He later told officers he wanted to complete the take-off and landing portion to obtain his pilot’s license. Weddle’s blood-alcohol content was .132 percent.
