Four guys in Newport Beach, California, were hauled off to jail for suspicion of stealing a sandwich from a parked car. The men made it a couple of miles down the road before they were caught with the $10 lunch.

A Florida man was arrested for falsely reporting that his girlfriend had been kidnapped. When police arrived at his apartment he told them he made the kidnapping call to keep her from moving out.

Criminals locked up in a prison in Brazil have a new way to win early release — knitting. The jailbirds (at the Arisvaldo de Campos Pires prison) have been allowed to perform work knitting clothes for a local fashion designer. The prisoners get a day off their sentence for every three days they knit. Wait, they’re giving prisoners knitting needles?!
