When the St. Petersburg, Florida, fire department arrived to respond to an electrical fire inside a house, they found flames shooting from the home from fire in a locked bedroom and the attic. But the home’s resident refused to allow firefighters to enter the bedroom to battle the electrical fire. After forcibly removing the 27-year-old man from the home, firefighters discovered why they weren’t welcome: There were 75 to 100 pot plants in the room.

In Florida, a search for a suspect wanted for burglarizing a car and stealing a firearm and then stealing another vehicle ended about seven hours later when deputies located the suspect back in the same house where the crime spree began. They found the suspect sound asleep.

Police in Florida (Boca Raton) held several men at gunpoint on the roof of a parking garage after people told nearby officers about men armed with guns and putting on body armor. But what started as a tense situation ended up being a case of what police are calling poor decision making: The group was getting ready for an action photo shoot for a Comic-Con event and the weapons were actually stage props.

Cops in Shanghai, China, received hundreds of calls from panicked citizens reporting unidentified flying objects buzzing the city. Turns out the UFOs were birthday-cake delivery drones being used by a clever bake shop looking to get some media buzz.
