Some Champaign-Urbana folks are putting together backpacks for kids of Moore, Oklahoma, devastated by tornadoes.

Grab some new or gently used backpacks and fill them with some of the items below. Then call Ceara (714-3817) or Jessica (778-3105) for drop-off info.

Their Facebook group has more info.

They will leave for Oklahoma on July 4th and will meet up with the organization HOPE raiser.

Needed:

  • Backpacks, small duffel bags (please)
  • hair ties
  • small handheld games
  • hair brushes
  • bobby pins
  • women’s sanitary product
  • single drink packs that they can add to refill able water bottles like Gatorade, propel, Kool-Aid, coloring books
  • word game books
  • markers
  • themed notebooks that older youth can use as journals
  • rubber bracelets.
  • New and sealed make up for girls
  • baseballs
  • footballs
  • small boxes of legos
  • dolls
  • small puzzles
  • card games
  • crayons
  • little flashlights
  • squeeze balls

Not needed: Water or clothes
