The Voice Wins An Emmy

The Emmy Awards were handed out last night and The Voice took home the trophy for Best Reality Competition Show beating out The Amazing Race, which has only lost one time since the category started.  The timing couldn’t be better, Blake Shelton and the original coaches return tonight!  The Voice season 5 premiere airs at 7:00 on NBC.

Carrie Underwood was part of a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK and the 50th anniversary of the Beatles performing on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time.

Tyler Farr has his first top 5 single with Redneck Crazy.  The Missouri native has been announced as the opening act for Florida Georgia Lines first headlining tour beginning in October.  Tyler’s debut album will be released September 30th.

Taylor Swift wrapped up her Red tour in Nashville over the weekend and just like many of the shows on the tour, Taylor invited some special guests to join her onstage.  Thursday was Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts on Friday and on Saturday night, it was Hunter Hayes.  Taylor is taking a little break before kicking off a string of shows in Australia on November 29.
