Kimberly Perry’s Dream Proposal
Kimberly Perry’s Dream Proposal

Congratulations to The Band Perry‘s, Kimberly Perry.  She’s engaged!  Kimberly has been dating Toronto Blue Jaye’s catcher, J.P. Arencibia, for over a year (but they would never talk about it publicly) and last night, he popped the question.

Kimberly got the proposal she had always dreamed of, on her family farm in Tennessee, under the big oak tree in the yard.  She had said, when she was a teenager,  “if I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree”.  She thought she was having dinner with her family last night but when she walked outside, Arencibia was standing under that oak tree.  That’s not the end though.  It just gets sweeter!

Not only did Kimberly pick out her dream location for a proposal, she had the dress picked out that she wanted to wear too.  Her mom sent her in to put on her dress.  In her bedroom Kimberly found her pink dress, a note from her family and a bracelet that her grandfather had given her grandmother when they started dating.

“I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather’s bracelet,” Kimberly said. “I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect.”

Kimberly first met Arencibia at the Florida Strawberry festival in February of 2012.  J.P., who lives in Nashville during the off-season,  used his connections to get backstage to meet her at the band’s show.

The 3 karat, emerald cut, engagement ring was designed by the couples friend in Chicago (hopefully she’ll share a pic of that very soon!).  They plan to tie the knot next summer.
