Jake Owen‘s 4th of July weekend started off great. He spent the holiday with his wife, daughter and his father, who was finally able to get away, for the first time, since starting his chemotherapy treatments. Jake’s weekend ended in the ER. He tweeted that he had an accident while racing go-karts with NASCAR stars Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick. Jake has decided to stick to singing.

Toby Keith‘s Oklahoma Tornado benefit concert on Saturday had the largest number of paid attendees in the history of the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The show started with Toby’s daughter, Krystal, performing the National Anthem and included performances by Oklahoma natives, Ronnie Dunn, Wade Hayes, Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood and of course Toby Keith among others. Instead of an encore, Toby treated the audience to fireworks.
According to Billboard magazine Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line are the top selling country artists on the year so far. Blake’s album, Based On A True Story, has sold 703,000 copies. Florida Georgia Line’s hit single, Cruise, has sold 3.1 million
Thompson Square‘s, Keifer Thompson, has finished up his vocal rest and the duo is happy to be back on the road again. They spent some time at the ballpark over the weekend. They were at Nationals Park in Washington DC on Saturday to throw out the first pitch and to perform following the game. The Nationals even supplied the band with new jerseys.
