George breaks his own record.

George Strait wrapped up his 2013 Cowboy Rides Away tour in San Antonio Saturday night to a sold out crowd of 73,000.  The attendance figure breaks the venue record set by George back in 2010.  George held an auction at each city he visited this year and raised $239,000 for the Jennifer Strait Foundation, created in memory of his late daughter.  The money raised will benefit various children’s causes in the San Antonio area.

The CMA Music Festival is this week in Nashville.  That means all of your favorite country stars are hanging out in Nashville, meeting up with fans, performing and raising money for various charities.  Darius Rucker is hosting his celebrity golf tournament today to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Rodney Atkins 3rd Annual Music City Gives Back concert is today.  It will include performances by Justin Moore Jana Kramer and Josh Thompson and money raised will benefit victims of the Moore, OK tornado.

Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on The Voice last night.  MIchelle performed one of Taylor’s songs and she showed up at rehearsal, leaving the Team Usher member speechless. Taylor didn’t get to watch the show last night, she was in Chicago where she joined the Rolling Stones on stage for a performance and later tweeted her excitement.

Hunter Hayes will headline the CMT On Tour this year.  He’ll begin October 10th in Knoxville and include two nights at the Ryman.

Lonestar is releasing a new album today.  Life As We Know It, is the groups first full length album in over 3 years and the first since the return of their original lead vocalist, Richie McDonald.
