Kristen Stewart is preparing to go back to school after enrolling at a prestigious American university.

The “Twilight” star has signed on to study English Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) via a correspondence course, which lets students take part without physically attending classes.

The course will allow Stewart to study in her own time so she won’t have to take a break from her filming commitments.

A source tells Britain’s The Sun, “(Stewart) is already considering a life after film. She never got to complete college and she wants to get a proper education. She is a voracious reader and cannot wait to get going on her correspondence course.”

“It won’t be easy and it will mean putting in some fairly strenuous hours. But once she’s graduated, Kristen will be able to do anything she wants, in or out of college.”

Stewart follows in the footsteps of Emma Watson and Natalie Portman who both attended university after stepping into the spotlight.
