Country music legend George Strait has signed a new five-album record deal at 61.

The singer/songwriter announced his new MCA Nashville deal at a gala honouring his 60 number one singles earlier this week.

Strait has recorded all 40 of his studio albums with MCA and says, “I’ve had a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to a whole lot more.”

Meanwhile, the Give It All We Got Tonight singer has also extended Cowboy Rides Away farewell tour, which kicked off in January and will now continue into next year. New dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
