Country star Trace Adkins was allowed to leave a rehab facility he checked in to earlier this month over the weekend.

The You’re Gonna Miss This hitmaker entered a a clinic in Lake Worth, Florida after suffering a setback in his battle with alcohol, but he briefly left the treatment facility to pick up an acoustic guitar at a local guitar shop.

Sources tell TMZ.com that his therapist “encouraged him to keep writing songs in order to stay focused on positive things” in his life.

Adkins had been sober for over a decade, after completing a 28-day alcohol rehabilitation program in 2002.

He decided to check into rehab again after a drunken altercation with an impersonator on a cruise he was booked to perform on.
