Country star Chris Young is aiming to resume his tour this week after undergoing surgery on his hand to treat a nasty cooking injury.

The singer had to pull out of events at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee last Thursday and on Saturday after accidentally cutting himself with a kitchen knife.

He received treatment to repair tendons in his left hand and has since been fitted with a cast, but instead of resting to continue his recovery, Young is determined to get back on the road.

He is scheduled to perform in Burlington, Iowa on Thursday and in Thornville, Ohio on Saturday.
