Carrie Underwood named ‘Idol’s’ top earner

Carrie Underwood has been named “American Idol’s” top-earning alum ahead of pregnant newlywed Kelly Clarkson.

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer raked in approximately $31 million between June 2012 and June 2013, according to the editors of business magazine Forbes.

Clarkson, who married last year and announced her pregnancy, was the show’s first winner.

The 13th season of “Idol” premieres on Jan. 15 on FOX.
