Ribbons for Boston at IL Marathon

During the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, runners in Champaign-Urbana will be wearing a show of support for the people of Boston.

WIXY 100.3, along with the other stations of The Illini Radio Group, has ordered thousands of stickers, which will be available at the marathon’s two-day Health Expo, at the marathon start line, and at the State Farm 27th Mile on the south side of Memorial Stadium.

Each sticker is printed with a ribbon in the shape of a shoelace and the word “Boston.” Runners are encouraged to place the stickers on their race bib or clothing. Marathon spectators are also encouraged to wear the stickers.

Each sticker will cost $1, with proceeds going to The One Fund Boston, which has been established to help people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15.
